StreamCast Networks has armed up against Skype founders claiming that they are illegally using company’s P2P technology to develop their VoIP services.

In a lawsuit, the Morpheus founder alleged that Skype and Joost developers, Niklas Zenstromm and Janus Friis have illegally used its P2P client FastTrack to provide video and VoIP video services on the web.

The lawsuit also indicts eBay as a defendant along with other parties who snatched technology rights from StreamCast in a breach of contract.

Skype announced they’ve made it even easier for small businesses to jump on the Skype bandwagon, by introducing their Small Business Pack.

The Pack includes a Skype for Business download, 10 five month subscriptions to Skype Pro™ (Skype’s new internet communications package) worth €100 and €50 of Skype credit for making calls to landlines and mobiles across the world.

This week Boingo signed an agreement with FON that will allow Boingo users access to an additional 130,000 hot spot locations, which more than doubles Boingo’s previous network size.

These additional WiFi locations are contributed to the FON network by individuals as well as business owners, in exchange for the right to roam on other FON network locations for free or at a reduced rate.

Access to the FON network stands to benefit Boingo Mobile users, who pay $7.95 per month for unlimited access to worldwide hot spots to make VoIP calls, surf the net and use messaging services from their handsets.

Boingo users have counted on the Boingo Roaming System for great coverage at major business travel locations, and now have the same great coverage outside of those locations with the addition of the FON community locations,

Awarded an $18 million contract from the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems, General Dynamics Information Technology will design and implement a VoIP system for the Pentagon.

This is not the first governmental contract that Virginia-based General Dynamics has been awarded. This latest contract is actually an extension and modification of a contract awarded in June 2002.

A multifunction VoIP system will be implemented in the Pentagon by General Dynamics, working with the Information Technology Systems Project Office for the Pentagon Renovation project.

VoIP, Inc. announced that as of the end of the first quarter for 2007 they’ve managed to reduce their liabilities by about $11.5 million. Recently, they reached a settlement with MCI Corporation that reduced their accounts payable by $4 million.

Also, another $3.4 million in previously existing debt was converted into retricted common stock, which reduced other liabilities of about $4.1 million via restricted stock related issuances.

The VoIP Infrastructure and service in Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets, DigiLinea, has announced plans to form a partnership with Rebtel in order to provide expanded mobile VoIP services for customers in the United States as well as Latin America.
